“Many small people, in small places, doing small things, can change the world.”

At Atemporal Ethical Home Interiors, we firmly believe that real change begins with small actions.
This is how VEF (Vegan&Ecologic Furniture®) was born, a collection that reflects our deep commitment to ecology, animal welfare, and the health of our customers.

Our Environmental Commitment

At Atemporal, we dedicate our greatest efforts to integrating ecology into every aspect of our company, always seeking to minimize our impact on the planet. Before taking any action, we carefully analyze the potential damage to the environment and plan strategies to reduce it as much as possible.

We are committed to more efficient transport: our raw materials arrive at the factory disassembled and compressed, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 60%.

We work exclusively with PEFC-certified solid wood structures, which guarantees responsible reforestation processes. We also offer a lifetime warranty on our structures.

We only use recycled plastic in all our packaging.

Our administrative system is digital, eliminating the need for paper and envelopes.

75% of our fabrics are made from natural fibers such as linen, viscose, and cotton, with the firm goal of reaching 100%, thereby reducing the use of polluting synthetic fibers.

All our catalogs and price lists are printed on recycled paper.

Cushions filled with 100% anti-allergenic, recyclable, unblended acrylic fiber, produced using solvent-free wet spinning.

We incorporate Biofoam Confort®, a foam that is free of toxic products, CFC-free, odorless, and has no medical contraindications.

We use water-based adhesives that are free of petroleum-based solvents.

Thanks to the installation of LED lighting systems and the use of natural light, we have reduced energy consumption in the factory by 75%.

In our rest areas, we have replaced disposable utensils with reusable glass and metal alternatives.

Our products are designed to have a long service life with quality materials, thereby reducing their environmental impact.

We are committed to working with local suppliers to minimize transportation and protect the environment.

We encourage carpooling among our team, reducing emissions from commuting.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification is the world’s leading eco-label for textile products. With this certification, we guarantee the absence of substances that are harmful to health.

We incorporate Kapok fiber fillings, a natural, sustainable, hypoallergenic, smooth material that is eight times lighter than cotton, anti-trace, anti-mite, and has excellent moisture management properties.

Our cushions are GRS certified, which guarantees that the materials used come from recycled sources and also meet strict social and environmental criteria.

Our VEGAN Commitment

At Atemporal, we stopped using animal-derived raw materials in our collections years ago. This decision was made because we could not guarantee the use of chrome-free tanning processes, nor could we ensure the traceability or respect for the animals from which these materials came.

Wool?

To try to prevent sheep from being infected by the Lucilia cuprina fly, farmers resort to a procedure known as mulesing. This practice involves cutting large portions of skin in the area surrounding the anus of young lambs in order to eliminate the folds where feces could accumulate and attract these flies. The procedure is performed without any anesthesia, causing intense pain and suffering to the animals.

Cushions filled with feathers or down?

There is significant controversy surrounding the method used to obtain the duck or goose feathers used to fill sofa cushions. According to producers and European regulations, animals are first slaughtered for their meat in the food industry, and their feathers are then used to fill textile products. However, various environmental organizations have reported internationally that, in many cases, the feathers are removed from the birds while they are still alive, causing them enormous suffering.

We care for your health: A study conducted by researchers at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and the pulmonology group at Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), published in the prestigious British scientific journal The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, shows that continuous exposure, however minimal, to duvets and pillows filled with natural feathers, as well as to birds and fungi, may be one of the causes of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. This disease, recognized since 1940, had no known cause until now.

Leather or hide?

Among the animals that suffer and are slaughtered for use in clothing or furniture upholstery, most are killed for leather production. This industry involves cows, bulls, pigs, lambs, and sheep, which are sent to slaughterhouses to meet public demand for this material. Animals raised for leather production suffer terribly throughout their lives, most confined to tiny spaces within industrial units. Even the small percentage of animals that do not live under intensive conditions are subjected to significant harm.

They are often separated from their mothers at an early age. They are then branded with hot irons, often on their faces or legs, to ensure that their skin shows no visible imperfections. Finally, they are sent to slaughterhouses, where they experience high levels of stress, pain, and the loss of their lives. Its skin is commonly used in the upholstery of sofas, chairs, and automobiles.

A respectful alternative: Fortunately, it is relatively easy to avoid using leather in everyday life. Companies such as Atemporal offer furniture made from natural fabrics, proving that it is possible to create high-quality, beautiful products without contributing to animal suffering.

Being able to change the world and live in greater harmony with the planet is a collective task. Every little gesture counts.

Our commitment to the present and future is clear: to protect the environment, ensure animal welfare, and care for the health of our customers.

At Atemporal Ethical Home Interiors, we haven’t been sitting idly by… have you?

Atemporal Ethical Home Interiors is the first and only national upholstered furniture manufacturer to adopt these measures and thus give up market share for the benefit of our planet, animals, and consumer health. Being socially responsible is one of our company’s core values, and we will continue to strive to improve the environment, care for your health, and treat animals humanely.

Atemporal Lifestyle

At Atemporal, we believe that caring for the planet is also a way of caring for ourselves. That’s why we participated in a   day with Bosquia, an initiative that promotes reforestation and the creation of sustainable forests.

It was an experience that connected us with nature, but also with our values as a team: collaborating and creating life together. Each tree we planted symbolizes our commitment to a more conscious and responsible lifestyle.
